Yellow bubbles.

For some time we thought that our house should have more color and individuality. The announcement of the exhibition in the Synagogue in Buren (2020) made us curious and we decided to take a look. The works grabbed us right away. The organic shapes, intense colors and layers keep you discovering.

We made the choice to purchase a work intuitively. Because we opted more for the style and atmosphere, it was not immediately clear what specific work it should be. When trying it on at home, the choice fell on the Yellow bubbles because it radiates a sparkling and warm glow with its fresh yellow color against the background of earth tones. The painting fits into the garden that can be seen all around through the windows and now that it has been in the house for some time, it seems to move with the seasons.

Our house has really got something extra with this. It is therefore nice to experience how people react. Sometimes we recognize our own reaction, but other surprising impressions also emerge. Always straight from the feeling. That's what it's about as far as we're concerned. No reason, just the feeling.

Untitled no3

We were looking for a beautiful, appealing piece for the wall for our newly engaged home. Immediately in the courtyard of the Markiezenhof we were drawn to the painting of our choice. After a pleasant conversation with Jo and Josie and an extensive look at two pieces, we decided to walk a little further. But yes, as it goes with love at first sight, after some time you have to look again. We then made an appointment to see if the painting really fits in the place we had in mind. We first rented for a year to get acquainted. After all, when you fall in love, you never know if it's just a temporary whim. The love remained and the painting became our property.

What appeals to us is the infinite timelessness that we experience when we look at it. Although it has been part of our daily lives for two years now, it is still a joy to behold.

Key to stillness.

Persingen 2016. One work after the other, walking around it, tasting, lighting, the amazement. I have walked around that exhibition at least 4 times and every time I stay for a long time at that one work, it attracts like a magnet. Orange, deep blue, lines, patterns, warmth, sometimes a Moorish-Spanish atmosphere. Key to stillness. Just too big for my wallet. But uh (Josie:) "you can rent it too", hmmm that's also an option. At least I can enjoy this treasure longer. After 1 year, 2 years, well I bought it, it really won't leave me.

There is still something mystical and a warm aura and the symbiosis with my space. Silence, the attraction.

By chance we visited the exhibition in De Steenfabriek in 2017. We viewed the entire collection with admiration and were particularly fascinated by the geometric play of colors and lines that can be found in many of the works. The exhibition had made such an impression that we decided to pay a follow-up visit. We especially wondered why two works roused us more than the other works, which we also found particularly beautiful in the majority.

The nice thing about the relationship with Jo and Josie for us was the possibility of a virtual "test hanging". That led to sending digital images of possible places in our house, after which the images were returned and the artworks could be viewed "on the wall". After this we have made the choice for "the Change". No geometry but much more abstract expression. Josie hung it up and gave us a few weeks to get used to it and make an informed decision.

The work has been hanging in our living room for a year now and gives this space great added value. The nice thing about an abstract work, with so much expression, is the variation that is always visible. We are still discovering new details that keep it fascinating.
